Brenda Chan is a Partner in Munhoe with more than a decade of experience in assisting clients to navigate complex equity capital markets and undertake mergers and acquisitions. Brenda was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court in Malaya in January 2011. Prior to joining the firm in June 2022, Brenda cultivated her career in corporate and commercial firms and subsequently, established her own practice in the name of Brenda Chan & Co.
Having honed her analytical skills and developed her aptitude for intricate problem solving through her years of practice, Brenda’s professional interests lie at the intersection of client satisfaction, business advancement, and regulatory compliance issues. Brenda’s experience in equity capital markets has been diverse, including initial public offerings, rights issue, placement exercises, employees’ share issuance schemes, and dividend investment plans. Both as an employed solicitor and in her own private practice, Brenda has been responsible for mergers and acquisitions across a wide range of industries and sectors, from modest to high net worth deals, involving government-linked companies and public listed companies.
By leveraging her diverse experience and providing customised strategic solutions, Brenda has assisted a number of private companies including clients operating in the startup space to better position themselves to achieve their capital raising and expansion goals. Brenda serves as external counsel for a number of companies operating in oil and gas, construction, and manufacturing industries, and regularly advises both foreign and local companies on their establishment and operations, commercial and corporate transactions, and regulatory compliance and licensing requirements.
